Lately ive been really getting into my games and i feel that in my whole system my memory lets me down..

    Current specs:

    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice @ 2.37Gh (262*9) (memory turned down to 333, 4x HTT)
    XFX Geforce 7800GTX 256mb
2 x 512MB Samsung pc3200 DDR 400mhz RAM now worth about £30 a 512mb stick, bought them around 2 years ago could be more)
200GB SATA 150 Maxtor 8MB Cache Hard Drive
    ABIT Fatal1ty AN8 SKT 939 NVIDIA® nForce4 Ultra M/B
    Hiper Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Blue
Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic
    Viewsonic VX922 2ms Gaming Monitor
    LOGITECH X530 5.1 Speakers

I'd like to spend around £150 on some really good 2gb memory which is gonna last me a long time but be very worth the £150 in respect of games and overclocking, id like to overclock my amd 3000+ without reducing the potential of the memory if thats possible!

If anybody can help me with this i'd be really grateful as i dont really know much about memory and their timings as i've had my memory for so long and never botherd o upgrade it.

If you think its not really bottling my system then do let me know :)

    Thankyou

Would they be better than these for what i want them for..

    Corsair 2GB DDR XMS4000PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS3 (MY-094-CS)

    3rd one down

i noticed the ones you chose had lower frequencies, does that mean they respond quicker or are faster in some way? even though the ones i've mentioned cost more?

the difference between the two are - PC3200 and PC4000. 3200 runs 400MHz default speed. 4000 runs higher. if u pick the 4000 then you have extra speed to play with. you could overclock ur CPU without going over the default speed of the PC4000 RAM...

Bet you could get it cheaper from somewhere other than overclockers.

    Ebuyer
    Scan
    RL Supplies
    Aria
    Misco

Those are just a few of many sites I use (UK only).
