Need to open restore files from win95 on xp

    My nieghbor had his brother die and wants a book the lost brother wrote. The past away brother saved restore floppies every month. I am a total stranger to floppies and never used one until today. The files are in a jumble of file types (.WP, .IN, .BM, .DR, .HL, .EX, etc.).
    Is there any way to get the info from these floppies without spending big $? Please keep in mind I'm a bit illiterate about using this floppy drive and any help would be appreciated by me as well as my nieghbor.
