netgear WGR614 wireless router

have been using my netgear WGR614 as wireless router with a cable modem. Moved and no longer have exterior modem. I have ATT internet thru the apartment with a wall outlet for internet. My qustion is I have tried to hook up my router to make apartment wireless and the instructions want me to hook the router up to a modem first. I don't have modem just the ethernet outlet in the wall. I can connect to internet wired but Wii, iPods, and laptops wont connect. HOw can I get wireless without an exterior modem?
