We've got some kind of interesting Network phenomenon going on here, I've never seen it before.

All of a sudden on Tuesday, one guy's computer started taking up 90-97% of the network's bandwidth... we scanned him for viruses, none found. When we took his computer off the network, somebody else's took over with the bandwidth soaking. Everytime we take another computer off the network, a new one starts sucking up the resources.

None are showing any viruses when scanned, and the computers themselves are not running slow, or incorrectly.

Anybody ever see anything like this?

    Thanks!

    Hi

Just a thought are these PCs doing a Windows update? as last update was a big one or possible 13+ updates depending on PC spec, maybe try running a LAN monitor on one of the PCs and seeing whats connecting http://majorgeeks.com/TCPView_d599.html < this one should do,its basic but may tell you what remote host is connecting perminently.

If Halo is right (and he probably is) it will go away.

I did see a similar report from an american source just recently, the final solution was

Which was well hidden from normal virus scans.
