New Infection. Need help!

Yesterday, I downloaded a video file. The file was a .wmv (this should have tipped me off that it was malicious right off the bat as .wmv's usually are)

WMP prompted me to download a new codec. "QuickyPlaeyr"

I accidentally clicked install. I immediately went and uninstalled it, but I knew it was too late.

Now I get redirected to BS pages half the time I click links on a Google search results page. And a lot of times I just get sent to the wrong URL. Like when I go to a non-existent URL I get taken to a website I'm hosting on my own computer. Stuff like that.

How do I go about diagnosing and treating this problem?

Is there any suggested utility I use and do I need to paste a scan result of it here?
