New Mobo, ethernet now not working. please help

ok just installed a new gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L mobo. Installed all the drivers that came with the CD.

everything is fine except for the fact it will not pick up ethernet connection, there is only 1 ethernet port on the mobo, but it still says that the network cable is unplugged, its showing up as connected on my router, but not on the computer.

i have tried disabling,enabling the adapter. does not give me the "repair" option.

any advice will be appreciated
