    Sun has released the new version of the Java Runtime Environment along with release notes for developers

    The public release points out the following changes

    1. Improved Quality (Bugfixes)
    2. Improved Performance (New Garbage Collector, System Configuration Adaption)
    3. Easier debug facilities for developers (Java Console)
    4. Improved look and feel (More Windows XP like :) )
    5. Ease-of-development (Generics/Templates, printf, properties)
    6. Improved XML support.
