New to forum and have question about Freemake Video Converter Initializing

    I have used Freemake Video Converter to edit short videos in the past with no problem. I am trying to open a large file I converted from a VHS tape to my Windows 7, 64-bit laptop to an .avi file. When I try to open the file in Freemake it just keeps initializing. I upgraded to a newer version of Freemake and the file is in gigabytes. Would either cause this problem? Thanks in advance.
