new user of skype need some guidance

there are a couple things that they didn't cover in the help document

can i make it to where my online status automatically sets to "online" whenever i log in
i make this statement because whenever my friend logs in (we were testing this over the telephone when we were seting up the program) snd after he said he logged in his online status said that he was offline (do you have to set the online status manually) if you have to set the online status manually then how do you make it automatically say that you are online whenever you log in

also how do you record skype conversations
i was using call graph earlier and whenever i start the recording process it starts to echo and the conversation is basically incomprehensible as in you can't make out what everyone is saying (plus the recording echos too)

Depends on what OS you are running.
For Mac OS - SkypeCap for Mac
For Windows - SkypeCap.
