no audio/ dell xps400/media center/sp3

    Did anyone ever find a fix for my dell xps400? I put xp media center with sp3 and lost audio.I deleted sp3 and now have audio, but some programs will not run without sp3. I know that there has been a longstanding problem with no fix; but was hoping maybe someone had came up with something.
