no audio playing DVDs

my computer has a Asus DRW1608p3s installed but I have no audio when I play DVDs, have no problem with Cd,
My os win xp home IE explorer.
Can anybody please help me with this problem?, cannot get any from Asus

Im going to take a stab at it without knowing anymore, my first guess would be the program that you are using to play the dvd's, whether it be power dvd, or win dvd, or which ever. I had that problem with win dvd. I would uninstall your dvd player software and reinstall. Let us know what takes place. ed

 

Thanks thats where my problem seems to be
I cannot find any software such as windvd or power dvd I
only have Nero Smartstart and UleadDVD.
I will contact my supplier and let u know the outcome
Guess this is a software problem and not a hardware one.
