I've just bought a new PC and it has a DVD-ROM drive and underneath it is a CD-WRITER drive. Am I wrong in thinking that with these I will be able to burn music from my PC onto a blank CD?

When I try burning the music onto a blank cd I get the message 'No CD or DVD burner has been detected. Press F5 to refresh the player.'

One of the main reasons I bought this computer was so that I could burn music onto a blank CD. Have I wasted my money?

I'd appreciate any help regarding this, thanks.

P.s. The make of the CD-WRITER is 'HP 7200'

If ya just bought it, return it or it must have some warranty?

    Check for loose cables.
Are you sure you bought a PC with a CD burner?
    Does it read cd's?
Do you have burning software installed?
