No hidden items arrow

The only thing that shows on the right side of my desktop toolbar is the clock. Nothing else and no arrow to hide items (of course there are no items to hide). How do I resolve this? Thanks.

 

If you are you a non MS theme or style try changing back to one & see if it comes back.

 

Thanks - I just did a repair on XP and have not changed the theme, etc. Any other thoughts?

 

i know this sounds really silly but have you tried just going to the taskbar properties unchecking the "hide inactive icons" box then rechecking it and applying it.

Sorry if its silly but i had the same problem and it worked for me.
