No internet access on desktop computer after virus

Hi. I was recently attached by a virus, the kind that shows a fake virus protector. I removed this using malware.

Now, the computer is not able to access the internet. This computer is my desktop computer and is connected to a router (cable). A laptop computer also works off this network wirelessly and has no issues connecting.

Could you please let me know what information you require and we can work through this issue.

Ive tried a number of things with no prevail but more than happy to try things again and post logs.
