I am trying to fix my cousin's computer. It's a Dell Inspiron Duo and it's giving me the fits.

Here are the major problems with the computer

    • Cannot run executables in regular mode
      • Except in Safe Mode. They do work in Safe Mode.
      • Get this error message: "The specified service does not exist as an installed service" whenever I do in regular mode
    • Device Manage appears blank
      • Also in safe mode
    • USB Drives are not recognized
      • Also in safe mode. I had to use WinPE disk to read the USB drives and install the programs needed here.
    • Can see the wireless network but cannot access them.
      • Also in safe mode

So here are my log files:

Here's what RougeKiller found. It found the ZeroAccess trojan and got rid of it.

However, even after I ran the Windows Repair program, I'm still having the same problems.

My recommendation would be to backup your data and reinstall Windows. There are just too many problems with this system.

    Sorry and best of luck.
