No Sound from realtek ac97

    Hello, I hope someone can help I have a IBM compatible pc 733mhz,12 gb hd,32 mb ram but no sound. i went to the help section and found asd started it and it showed realtek ac 97 not working. When I tried to start it the following msg came up.

    Did it work previously?
    Have you installed driver update from Microsoft, if so that might be the problem.
    Might go to Device manager, try roll back driver or update driver.
    If that dont work might uninstall in device manager, then reboot & let windows reinstall.
