No start menu or taskbar in windows xp

    my taskbar along with start menu do not appear. also, i can not search or right click properties of user accounts. any suggestions

    Get out your xp install cd and search it for Explorer.exe find and replace your explorer.exe inside windows folder. YOu may have to do this in safe mode.

    Or you can run sfc /scanow form the run prompt, also you need a xp install cd for this as well

    Sounds like you explorer file is messed up this is why I made those suggestions

    There is a typo the command is to repair XP do this command Run sfc /scannow from the command prompt.
