Notepad gibberish

Recently loaded Belarc Advisor to get info on my computer, but when i access the desktop icon all i get is this gibberish from the notepad. I know that it displays info in different format. How do I get rid of notepad and get info that I can understand. Using windows xp, thanks for any help in this matter.

 

I don't know if this is what's wrong, but i saw this in a different thread:

Attachment (with a textfile icon): random name ending with ZIP, BAT, CMD, EXE, PIF or SCR extension

When a user clicks on the attachment, the worm will start Notepad, filled with random characters"

also, you may want to update your anti-virus (you do have an anti-virus...right?) and run a complete scan
