Now I have two ERUNT's

Hi!! Was reading a thread about ERUNT. It seemed I had a older version of ERUNT. I went to Majorgeeks and down loaded and installed the new ERUNT. Now I have two versions of ERUNT on my PC. I thought ERUNT would install over the top of my old one, but it didn't. Now I'm wondering should I uninstall the old one or just leave both; or should I uninstall both ERUNT's and start over with just the new one???:confused:confused
PS I just scheduled my old ERUNT to run once a week. Is this going to screw every thing up if I leave them both on my PC??

GUI = 'front end' not the program plus a new front end.

Always a good idea to check things out thoroughly before installing so you don't get any unexpected surprises.

Sorry I'm so stupid!! I'm not a geek, just a want to be. ERUNT has never given me any trouble and is trusted my millions so I didn't see a need to check it out thoroughly. I just assumed it would install over the top just like most up grades do, unless they tell you different, which is very rare . I'm not that familiar with GUI's. It looked like the program was installed twice to me sense I had two short cuts on my desktop and it was in my programs twice, but like I said I'm not a geek, just want to be some day.
I guess I'll just leave things alone and not worry about it.
    Thanks for your reply!!:)

Hi!! I now know what a GUI or Gooey is!:-D

Hi!! It still looked to me that ERUNT was installed in two different places. I uninstalled my old one. Then I ran the registry Defrag with new one. Was told needed to reboot. My OS shut down and I received a warning that it was shutting down to protect my computer. Avira made a mindump. Will attach zip file. My PC seems to be OK now, but I'm not sure what happened. :confused:confused
    Hoping someone has a answer!

    This is crazy!!

Hi!! Some day I want to be a real geek. I have a long way to go :-D
I tried to start a new thread about a mindump I got when using ERunt optimizer.
I tried to attach the zip file and my PC went crazy. Locked me out of Majorgeeks. I couldn't do any thing. I have never seen any thing like this. I will attach the link that I posted earlier and hope this helps some one figure out what the hell happened. I'm not crazy. Well maybe a little crazy. I was using manage attachments to add my zip file. I have never seen any thing like this. Every thing is cool now, but it was really crazy for awhile. It freaked me out!

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1639935&postcount=7
I was trying to get a geek to post on the above link and help me, because my OS shut down, after using ERUNT optimizer and did a mindump. It was crazy for awhile. I'm ok now!! Majorgeeks is cool now. I'm hoping some thing was recorded and will explain what happened. I know this is not the place to post, but it can be moved. I don't know how to tie my threads together. I'm hoping this makes sense to some one ?????

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.

Hi! mimon!! I have no clue what your trying to tell me. I'm just a newbie in the computer world. I just know my PC was acting strange , but now every thing is cool. I wanted to report all this to Majorgeeks and hope it would help someone figure out what's going on.
    Thank you!!
PS I have started another thread ( This is crazy) I'm hoping this all ties together and helps Majorgeeks. I don't have a clue??? I hope I haven't broken any rules.;);) My PC was going crazy and I couldn't even log onto Majorgeeks. I was thinking I broke the rules and was being locked out. Every thing is cool now. Wheew!!

Yes it was Avira. Were you using NTREGOPT to optimise the registry?
Well the detailed info does not mention to shut down apps or disable the AV, real time anti-spyware, maybe it's considered understood.

Used both ERUNT and NTREGOPT ages ago, don't recall disabling anything! On a Mac right now so can't give it a run.

Here's a link that advises to shut down running apps and I quote.
Maybe mjnc can jump in here, as he is a regular user. :)

    Yes in the Lounge.
You're gonna get wupped now. :-D

    Cheers..

Yes. you should certainly shut down All running applications before running NTREGOPT, since they could write
to the registry while running or when shutting down.
Also, make sure that no Automatic Updates are processing before running NTREGOPT.

Don't think it's necessary to disable antivirus and such - I never have and it hasn't caused any problems that I'm aware of,
    although it might be beneficial.
Besides, if I was going to disable those things, I would first disable the network internet connection.

Remember, you need to Reboot Immediately after running the optimization, so you want all Apps closed anyway.

    Hi please don't wupp me.:-D:-D
I don't remember if any thing was running. I have been using NTREGOPT to optimize my registry for a long time. I had installed the new ERUNT GIF thinking it would install over the top, but it didn't and so I had two ERUNT's. I uninstalled the old ERUNT and wanted to see if the new one would work. I used NTREGOPT and said yes when it asked to restart. That's when my OS shut down and Avira made the mindump file. I zipped the file and attached it in this thread. I thought I should make a new thread and attach it there also. The forum went crazy and locked me out for a long time after I tried to attach the zip in a new thread. I thought I had broken some rules. I have never seen any thing like that before. I thought I should report what happened. Every thing is ok now???? I will try to answer any questions you have!!
    Thank you!

Keep em all together, oej. ;)

Hi!! OK. Thank you!.;) I just want everyone to know that I'm reporting two different things. The first was a mindump by Avira when using NTREGOPT. The second was Majorgeeks forum locking me out when I tried to attach a zip file of the mindump. I know you can't upload the same jpg twice. You get the message that the jpg has already been uploaded. I didn't get that message when I tried to upload the same zip file. It just locked me out of the forum and went crazy for a long time. I hope I'm explaining this well.:confused
Anyway every thing is OK now and I'm back to normal. I did another optimize with NTREGOPT and no problems this time?????? Computers are weird and will drive you crazy. I'm going to start a thread in the lounge about "What is the weirdest thing your PC has done to you"? What do you think Laura;would that be a fun thread?:-D Things wouldn't have to always be true. You could make up silly things too along with true things.
    Thank you friend!
