I searched online and the advise was to turn on numlock, then reboot.

    It is still off.

    Any pointers?!?

In the BIOS there should be a setting to always have Num Lock on when Windows starts.

If your BIOS doesn't have such a setting (mine doesn't) open regedit and navigate to Computer\HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard. Double click InitialKeyboardIndicators and in Value Data: enter 2147483648.

Ok, how do I find Regedit now from the Start Tiles?

    Thank you in advance.;)

Click on Search the web and Windows and type in Regedit. You will have to agree to run it in UAC.
