Ok I'll post some facts about my pc first (its a crap pc)

    Computer:
    Besturingssysteem Microsoft Windows ME
    OS Service Pack Geen
    Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 (IE 6.0 SP1)
    Computernaam (removed)
    Naam gebruiker (removed)

    Motherboard:
CPU Type Intel Pentium IIIE, 866 MHz (6.5 x 133)
Motherboard name: Intel Easton D815EEA (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 3 DIMM, Audio, Video)
    Motherboard Chipset Intel Solano i815E
    Systemmemory 256 MB (SDRAM)
    BIOS Type AMI (09/22/00)
    Communicatiepoort Communicatiepoort (COM1)
    Communicatiepoort ECP-printerpoort (LPT1)

    Scherm:
    Video card Standard-PCI-videoadapter (vga)
    3D-accelerator nVIDIA GeForce2 GTS
    Monitor Dell E770p (279CF0AUB07Z)

So it started when I had to format c: because my pc kept turning off when windows loaded (should be because I used a program to boost my ram)
I installed windows ME again, installed internet, guild wars and Nvidia driver which I downloaded from the site (Graphical card, geforce, windows ME).
I installed the driver, rebooted my pc and saw that I couldn't change the colors from 16 to 256 colors.
I installed it manually (in device manager, pointing to the Nvidia map), rebooted pc, it shut down again while windows is loading.
I restored to an earlier time, tried installing the driver again, after I rebooted it said "wrong driver, check nvidia website or windows update".
I downloaded all the essential updates from windows update (not the windows ME updated) but didn't see any service pack 2.
So the main problem is that I cannot get 256 colors.

My motherboard hasn't been updated for 6 years, could that be the problem?
Can't find any drivers on the intel / dell website.

Hopefully I will find a reply here tomorrow morning :)
    Thx

Downloaded, installed, overwrite existing files? ... yes, rebooted, still can't change it to 256 colors.
When I watch in the Software screen, it doesn't show anything "Nvidia".
In AIDA it says that I use a "standard video card", shouldn't it say "Geforce2"?
