    Hi,

I have an interesting situation. The Action Center in Windows 7 tells me that I have disabled automatic updates (I didn't). I re-eanble it, a few hours later I get the same warning again. Something keeps turning automatic updates off.

I use Avast, Malwarebytes (Premium version) and Comodo.

Windows tells me that I have 2 active antivirus software (Avast and Malwarebytes), 4 Spyware protection software (Avast Antivirus, Comodo Defense +, Malwarebytes, Windows defender (but Windows defender shows as turned off) and 2 firewalls (Windows firewall and Comodo).

Is it possible that there is a conflict between these softwares, resulting this odd behaviour? Could it be a virus or malware?

By the way, all the system sweeps with Avast and Malwarebytes are clean (in normal mode, didn't try in safe mode).

    Thanks.

I doubt this is a malware problem but yes you could be having software conflicts. You must make sure that Windows Defender is really disable and the same for Windows Firewall if you have installed Comodo's Firewall. Is it only the firewall from Comodo or the whole security suite?

    It is only the firewall.

Okay then you should make sure that the Windows Firewall is disable. Also your problems with automatic updates may possibly be due to Avast and or Malwarebytes Premium. As a test you could try uninstalling Avast and rebooting and see if you still have a problem. If you do then try uninstall Malwarebytes and reboot again and then see if the problem still occurs. Do not leave your PC in this unprotected mode though while doing a lot of online activities. It is just meant as a test because we have seen that sometimes issue with Windows update can be caused by installed software especially protection software.
