ODD Firmware Check?

    Hi,

    I recently downloaded a free online video downloader, and also bought an external DVD burner. I noticed in the right bottom corner of my monitor, I have a new icon that when placing the cursor over it, says ODD Firmware Check. I clicked on it, but all it does is open a blank IE window (I use Mozilla Firefox.) Anyone know what this is and if I should remove it and if so, how?

    Open that program and deselect "check for software updates".
    Some free programs add all kinds of things so be sure nothing else installed with this new program you installed.
