Both Excel and Word take a lifetime to open, and also whenever I download a file it stays stuck at 99%. Attached is my hijackthis log.

As Spyware Doctor and Microsoft Defender are both real time scanners having both installed and running will slow applications down to a degree as they are both scanning the same files, so best to uninstall one of them.

You also seem to have ZoneAlarm still resident on your PC, is it fully un-installed?

plus to fully assist in removing and malware issues a Hijackthis log on its own is just not good enough so its best to run the below guide and as well as attaching the requested logs please also re-attach a new hijackthis log.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

      • [*]runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
        [*]newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Attached is everything but the pandascan and bitdefender (which won't let me save the log as a text, only as html which I can't upload.).

Read the directions again in the sticky thread!!!!!!! The Bitdefender log file was supposed to be renamed with a .txt extension. The Panda log is not save as an html file to begin with. It is a .txt file. You should already know this since you did it in another thread once before. See http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=85485

Why are you uploading the GetRunKey.zip and ShowNew.zip files???? Please attach the logs not the files you downloaded from here.

I doubt your problem is malware. I would suggest a quicktest of uninstall Symantec to see how things run with it uninstalled. Then you can reinstall afterwards to get your protection back.

If you would read my previous post I stated that I TRIED to change the file type to a .txt but it would only save on my system as an .html.
As for the PandaScan my system won't download the ActiveX controls in order to run the scan to begin with.
As for the Getrunkey and Shownew I uploaded the wrong files.
Attached is everything you should need.

Please run MSconfig and select Normal Startup and then attach a new log from ShowNew and HJT. I see signs of some malware to remove but nothing that would cause your problems.

You should also goto Add/Remove programs and uninstall the below as requested in step 0 of the READ ME.
    SmileyDistrict Optimizer
    Viewpoint Media Player

I was unable to remove SmileyDistrict Optimizer due to a .dll error.
I was in normal startup mode when I attached the hijack this log but I'll try again.

Also by uninstalling Norton Antivirus it fixed my Office issues and all those programs start up properly now.

Attached is the new HJT and Shownew Log.

Try using this Your Uninstaller! 2006 to uninstall it. Let me know if it works.

I was in normal startup mode when I attached the hijack this log but I'll try again.

As I suspected! Are you planning on re-installing Norton?

Is ZoneAlarm working okay. It has shown in HJT as a file missing since your first post.

Your logs are now clean! If you are not having any other malware problems, you should work thru the below link which also gives you other choices for an antivirus than Norton.
