Office 2016 Activation Failed

I am using Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 14295 on the slow ring.

I have purchased Office 2016 from Microsoft online through my education account and they have provided me a key to activate Office.

When I finish installing Office 2016, I get this image: http://i.imgur.com/zzzmjEX.png
I am under the impression that the center image should be showing something else, other than a windows into my desktop wallpaper

If I click repair now, Word restarts and I am presented with this: http://i.imgur.com/osLfSFq.png

Clicking repair now again, Word shuts off. If I click on a Word doc I am presented with: http://i.imgur.com/y4NKsyS.png

What is going on? What can I do?

None of those images even show when I click on them. Maybe a person has to be 'logged in' to imgur to see them. Just use focussed window screen shots and upload them.

 

I can see your images ok. Looks like a bad install. You could try reinstalling over the top or repairing Office. Not sure how a repair is performed in 2016 but in earlier versions it was via control panel programs and features. Why are you still using a preview version of Win 10?

 

I loaded them in Chrome then they showed. No idea why they don't show in Fx.
If it was me I would do a full clean uninstall of Office 2016, then restart system and try installing afresh.

 

• This is an Insider Preview of W10 that is ahead of the latest stable release. Truthfully I am trying to get out of the insider program and onto a stable build but that can only happen once the Anniversary update rolls out (or I reinstall the OS which I do not want to spend time on)
• I have tried many clean installs now - I cannot get it to work
• Repair through control panel does not fix the problem

 

Since you have recently purchased it, Microsoft Support have a legal obligation to help you.

 

I'm thinking it might be time to reinstall Windows stable (I tried to avoid it but it would be difficult to get support for a Windows Insider Preview Product unfortunately).
