Older PC Still Running

    Hello and thanks for being there.

    I have a 2002 Compaq PC that works well, except I have to defrag it every week. I don't want to take it to Best Buy because it is expensive and I don't know what they will want to do to it. I have never wiped out my hard drive. Is there a program that will help refurbish this PC?

    you can reformat it (erase the drive and start all over) if you have a Windows CD. if not, there may be some program you can run that will restore it to factory settings. keep in mind YOU WILL LOSE ALL FILES ON THE COMPUTER

    Is there an easy way to know which files to keep and which ones to trash?

    Is there an easy way to keep the files I need?

    I tried to burn a CD with my files on it once, but could not access the files.
