   I have Wnidows XP and keep getting a notice to update but get this error.
   
   
   The following updates were not installed
   Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86
   
   
   I have reinstalled it from the direct link and ran it and rebooted and tried to update and still did not get it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Dixie

   Hi
   
   Try the following advice HERE
   
   Use the Method 2 first, then check Add/Remove and make sure no .Net versions are still listed, then download and install .Net 3.5 SP1 from HERE then try Windows Update again.
   
   If Windows Update fails to install any .Net updates please do tell us the error code in full as it helps find the cause
