Open Office and Ubuntu 9.04

    I've been surfing google, and cant find any help, so I've come to my trusty geeks for help. I have ubuntu 9.04, and I don't want to update to 9.10, still a little buggy for my tastes. Either way, I have been wanting to update open office from the 3.0 i have to 3.1. I've read a hundred tutorials, none of which did anything. Help would be appreciated.

    Thats actually one of the many tutorials i tried. It didn't work for me for some reason. says it finished, but when i check my version, its still 3.0. any more help appreciated
