Superb browser Bazza, I have used various incarnations of Opera for years, good speed too, now free a bonus.

    Wow, free!

I've heard and read some great things about this browser.

Now I have the best reason to try it. Thanks for the info.

I've just installed it, and it looks and runs great, except for one thing.

When I rest my mouse cursor on a post link, say on the software page, the resulting pop-up only tells me the address, not the thread details.

I'm sure it's only a setting somewhere. Anyone know where?

    Could you clarify that?

I see the tag/popup, but, I'm not sure whare you are trying to say.

I do have to say this. They sure cleaned up their act. Though, I doubt I'll switch. I've been a toady of ff for to many years. :)

It is interesting they went from free, to pay/ads, to free again.

When you rest your mouse cursor, say in Internet Explorer, on a link on the software forum page for example, a small yellow preview box comes up telling you the first paragraph in the thread, without you having to click on it.

In Opera, it just displays the address, for example http://www.ageekiam.com etc.

What kind of plugins have you installed with IE? Cause I don't see any preview of thread "popup" when I hover over a link, in IE, FF, or Opera.

I'm assuming you are running XP.

No plugins, it's always done that, and as far back as I can remember. (Yes, I'm using XP)

FireFox does the same, but it's only about the first half a dozen words.

Maybe I'm not using the correct terminology in the description, but it's a pretty standard thing in browsers, or you would think so.

In case you still don't understand what I mean, check out the attachment.

It's the little yellow "preview" rectangle on the bottom left.

Just to try and clarify, when you rest the mouse cursor on a thread link, the preview box comes up for about 10-15 secs, so you don't have to click on it to see the contents.

FireFox does the same, but only the first line.

Opera however, just gives the address, which is pretty useless.

I'm outta ideas. This doesn't happen for me. :(

I'm surprised it doesn't do it for you, as I said, it's a pretty standard thing.

I wouldn't even know where to turn it on if that wasn't.

Thanks for you time anyway, I appreciate it. ;)

I like this browser, but I dont think SpywareBlaster supports it? Which is a problem, and I might have to switch back to FF.

Opera has the coolest add-on that I know of.
It will read (with your choice of male or female voice) any
    text that you highlight.
Makes late nite reading a lot easier. And it's not
so hard to get used to, either.

Opera does show the yellow preview box,but not when the mouse is on the text but just above the text in the free space in the same cell.
