I wanted some expert opinions on a system I want to build soon. I want it as a multimedia powerhouse to mainly edit video. I have a lot of VHS tapes that i wanna convert to DVD. I already have the DVD drives and a decent sound card , so I won't be needing those. This is what I have. Please give me some insight, i'm open to any thoughts.

Also, I wanted to know; I have a dell with only 256 RAM. I was wondering if I could possibly buy the ram I have posted above and have it work in my dell and just transfer it to my new computer. The current dell i have supports PC2100, and the RAM I want to buy is PC3200. Just wondering if it would work... Thanks for your help

Looks pretty good from what i can see. As far as the ram, it may or may not work . Without more detailed specs on the dell I can't really tell . Ati all in wonder cards are usually top notch:)

what the web site states is this
Memory: 256MB to 512MB DDR SDRAM at 400MHz for superior performance3 (400MHz memory will perform at 266MHz for Celeron processors).5

so it is supported but clocks back for celery chips if i understood the website right

Nice choice, and it's pretty much what I would choose, except for the video card.

I prefer nVidia at the moment because they support Shader Model 3.

An nVidia 7800 GT, or a 7800 GTX if it's in your price range, would be ideal.

Is this card good for video editing? and does it offer all the same extras as the ATI All-In-Wonder X800XL like video imputs and outputs? And what is Shader Model 3?

Don't know about the inputs and outputs, but I'm sure you can find a card that has what you want with that chip. (7800 GT or GTX)

As far as what Shader Model 3 is, in very plain English, if a game is coded for it, then it makes the graphics look much better and more realistic, like Far Cry for example.

There aren't that many games at the moment that use it, but there are plenty in development.

Having said all that, there are sites that claim that the 7800 GTX fails in Shader Model 3.

That may very well be down to drivers, but regardless, it's still an awesome chip and easily the fastest currently available by far.

One thing puzzles me in that list.

I thought that BFG's, which are my favourite video card brand, were factory overclocked, yet on that list they have a lower core clock and memory clock to the other brands?

There's only a couple of cards there with a lower core clock and memory clock speed.
