OptusNet Desktop Service Centre alternative?

    Hiya all,
    I recently went with optus for my DSL broadband, and the "Desktop Service Centre (ver.2.0)" Program that they gave me to manage the connection and other features is slow, laggy, uses way too much ram for what it does, and (i think) just plain silly :p
    If anyone could recommend an alternative program simply to allow me to "Connect" or "Disconnect" at my whim, i'd greatly appreciate it.

    I've looked around and found nothing but endless lits of download accelerators.
