Organizing Start Menu Windows 7

I have read two separate tutorials saying all I have to do to organize my programs on the start menu is to go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu and re-arrange them there but no matter what I do, some programs and folders don't show up in that view but they do on the start menu or vice versa. I cannot seem to see everything and move everything from this location. Am I missing something? Is there an easier way to create folders and move your programs around to where you want them on the start menu?

 

Assuming that your re-organization technique is working for the first folder, then the rest of the Start Menu items are located in the second link. So the answer is yes, you are missing something, because not all of the Start menu Items are located in the same folder.

The first Folder......
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

The second folder......
Edit: Find a folder in your start menu that is not in the above link, then go to properties and paste the file location at the top of any folder, I assume since you provide an initial link that you know how to do this. At the bottom is a picture of how to do this......You might have to unhide all folders for this to work.

On another note, if you are unable to organize the folders the way you want, then I suggest the following technique...........Rename them, but only add numbers to the beginning of each name like so........

1-CCleaner
2-KMplaer
3-Amazon
4-Games

And the names will show up in that order because they are organized by name, and the begging of each name begins with a number.
