I have the problem that I cannot send an email with attachments – jpg format.
The computer stalls and I have to unplug it.
The result is that the email with the attachment blocks other emails, so nothing can be sent.
I can receive emails with attachments even big size without any problem.

I have Windows XP and Outlook 2003.

Anybody who can help as this has now lasted about 6 months and I cannot find any help on Microsofts website.

    What does:

... mean? Errors in Outlook 2k3? OS errors? No errors, but still sends? Size of attachment versus the limit set by your ISP?

the size of the attachment presently blocking all sending is 16KB
and I can receive upto about 3MB attachment - once even 5MB

Try to disable, first the software firewall. Then try to send your email (with attachment). If that doesn't work, disable your antivirus program, then try sending out your email.
