Hello! Office Outlook 2007 was working fine but today I get this error msg.

Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file C:\Users\(User)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst is not a personal folders file.

Any idea what is going on?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1 on Dell Inspiron 560 64 bit OS.

Thanks for any and all help.

This problem isn't at all uncommon so Microsoft incorporated a repair tool in Outlook. Have a read here.

Thank you, Earthling. I ran the Outlook Repair tool after Browsing to the file and received this msg.

The Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Inbox Repair Tool does not recognize the file. No information can be recovered.

Do I have any other options?

If the Inbox Repair Tool cannot recognize the PST file, then there must be some severe damage to it.

There are a number of ($$$) PST repair tools out there, but I don't know how far you can trust them.

Your best option: restore from a recent backup.
