Outlook Express 6.0 Loading issues

Hello,

I have win XP Professional loaded on my machine as well as Outlook Express 6.0. I have an intermitant problem with express. Every now and then when I go to load Outlook Express I just get a ding sound and it does not load. the only way that this will work is if I log off my session, not log out and then log back it. The only thing that I see different when this happens is when I do a right click on the icon and view properties general. For some reason the archive box is unchecked when the program is not working. When the program is working properly and I view properties the check box is checked in archive. Any assistance would be appreciated.
