I finally broke down and replaced my old dinosaur...

Built a new system with P4 630 3 ghz, asus P5AD2-E Premium mobo. Using the asus o/c utility Ive run a 20% o/c (3.6 ghz) with no problems... but she starts to heat up a little at 30% with the cooling I have. Usually run stock speed tho, 3 ghz is plenty fast compared to my old 500 mhz machine...

At stock speed I run about 40 deg C idle, 55 under load... O/C to 3.6, 40-42 idle, 58-59 under load with room temp 70-75 degF. Getting these temps with stock cooling, replaced Intel's thermal stuff with Arctic Silver 5 applied per instructions on AS website... temps have dropped 3-4 deg C since first boot about a month ago as the AS5 worked in.

    Specs:
    P4 630 @3.0 ghz
    ASUS P5AD2-E Premium
    2 gb Corsair Value ram
    Samsung DVD/CD burner
    WD 80 gb SATA hd
    ATI X800XL graphics card
Lian Li PC V1000 case (GREAT airflow, but not a TAC case)
