partition table is bad [partition magic says]

i wanted to format a storage drive but i got this error message partition table is bad.error 100 can someone help me fix this without formatting windows?thanks jim

 

I dont know anything about PM errors, but:

1. What filesystem is on the stroage drive?
2. Have you ever installed anything like GoBack?

 

I ran across this after googling 'repair partition table'...seemed relevant, albeit disappointing at a glance...

 

Not only that, but if you don't know what is truly wrong, don't reccomend fixmbr. You can make things worse.

 

the file system is ntfs no no goback.i took the drive out its not thaT DRIVE givin me the problem its the drive with windows on it i made a mistake the error message is for the c drive.i hooked the othe drive to my laptp partion magig formatted it with no problem thanks jim
