partitioning an existing hard drive

    have xp pro....new system, new HD....up and running, never partitioned, would like to now...( i know..i know..but better late than never)...can i partition this existing C drive without any outside software....eg within windows without re formatting?

    Dont Know of any free software, if your willing to reinstall windows, you can download utility from the hdd manufactures free.
    If you can buy one, Partition Magic is great probably can find for around $20 online download.

    yes, you can use Fdisk from a startup disk or you can use the command prompt to access this file. Just type in Fdisk at the prompt.
