I recently bought a "plug in and play" optical mouse. After plugging it in and letting my laptop recognize the nano receiver i tried to use the mouse. No luck. I put the receiver in every USB port on my laptop with no avail. Finally i did get some response out of the mouse but it stopped once i moved my laptop about a foot. I have a feeling it's due to interference from my router but i can't move my router or my laptop further away because i'm in a dorm setting. Any suggestions or fixes? Or should i just go get a wired mouse or one from a more name brand manufacturer?

    Thanks

    Welcome to Major Geeks.

It sounds like a defective mouse or receiver. If it's still within the store's return policy, take it back.

Although there are many decent brands, I've found Microsoft and Logitech to be the most reliable wireless mice.

    Hope this helps. :)
