pc died and trying to locate certain spyware program

Hi,

My pc died and lost all. On it I had a site blocker or some sort of blocker, which I thought was called superantispyware.

When I looked it up here on majorgeeks it said it's a scanner.

This program was not a scanner, but would block hundreds or thousands of something; perhaps sites, or terms etc.

It wasn't a program that was running. It was a program would update, and then enable all protection; as say it would add another 1000 to block.

Does anyone know what this program is called, as was excellent and kept system really clean; it may have also blocked cookies.

Also, I now have Window Vista (ugh) and so even if can find that program, may not work with vista, though not sure.

ETA: this was a free program..

I just saw something listed here by same name saying if don't purchase is only scanner. Otherwise blocks

so came to add that.

Am looking for the free program which only blocked, no scans.

 

Please forgive me, hehe, I went to the link from a 2004 list of protection here, and it brings me to the right software. Superantispyware, but now it shows scan is free (which I never had), and blocking is not free.

Perhaps they just changed it to pay for it.

As now is pay only and can't afford and I do not like spybot search and destroy, does anyone know of freebie good blocking software for vista?

I am so sorry. I now have it figured out.

Please forgive me. I guess for some reason since I had the free blocking only version that they get allowing me to use it, right up till last week when the pc died.

I located their site thru here, now that realize is same program, and sent them an email.
