It does not really sound like malware. It's not impossible. There is always the possibility that a Rustock rootkit is at play. It just does not sound like. And in addition if you cannot even get your PC to login so that you can run cleaning procedures, there is nothing we can do for you anyway. You are better off in the Software Forum working your problem. You are the one who stated there that you fixed the problem but you did not say exactly what you removed from startup. Then next thing you know you are having problems again.

You may want to try run chkdsk from the Recovery Console. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058


Also if you ever do get your PC to boot in any mode, click Start, Run, and enter sfc /scannow and click OK. There is a space after the sfc. This runs System Rile Checker which looks for missing or corrupted system files and attempts to replace/repair them from files on your hard disk or from the CD if necessary. So it will ask for the Windows CD if it needs it.
