PC programs and computer freezes

    Computer sometimes freezes after booting up. mostly programs freeze but mouse cursor continues to function until enough things are clicked and computer totally freezes. Not sure if CPU, motherboard, or power supply issue. Changed DDR RAM with same results. System is a Gateway GM5260 with an Intel Core2 processor.

    About how old is the computer? It could even be signs of your hardrive going bad.

    I'm thinking you it might be a good idea to verify that the computers not infected in any way. Try going through the guide below, put together by "chaslang". Let's see if that helps in away way or if the problem still exists.
