pci-e 512mb vid card shoppin

i cant find anything in my price range for a good 512mb video pcie card.

ive been looking for at least an hour and i cant find anything.... my pricerange is pretty much anywhere under 100$.. i've found a few but nothing i can justify....
are there any good 256bit cards under 150? i dont really know the point of 512mb if theres a 128bit cutoff.. cant use the whole 512

edit: i'd really like 256bit 512mb with DX10 compatability

 

To take advantage of dx 10 you need vista, just incase you didn't know.

 

I hate to break it to ya but there are no cards in that price range that meet your requirements. 512mb of VRAM is useless anyways unless its on a very powerful card

next step up is an 8600GTS which runs around $150

 

but arent there games for windows XP that require or run better with dx10?
well probably not at the moment but will they? or will they ONLY run on vista?

 

XP can run (some) DX10 games but cant use the DX10 features such as SM 4.0 etc...Either way DX10 cards perform well in DX9 games as well so there isnt really a reason to get a last gen video card.

 

so i should or shouldnt get a dx10 card.... there will be some big games out for it eventually.... but its gonna cost me some extra cash, when i could get a good dx9 card vs a decent dx10 card..

 

this is a nice dx10 card.. the drawback is the 128bit interface...

the x1950 will totally smoke the 8600GT, though like u said it has no DX10. If i were you though, since you dont have Vista, I would get the x1950

 

im seeing if i can get an x2900. its gonna run me like 180$ or so but ... thats a fricken awesome card... dx10, 512bit interface....
