Hey all, Wondering if anyone has a software recommendation (FREE not trial) that I can use to scan multiple pages into one PDF file. I had used a-pdf but it places an advertisement on the 1st page. I'd settle for something I can download or a website that will do this FREE online. THANKS for any advice.

The long way: scan your documents/pics as normal, then insert your scans into word to make a word document and then print the word doc to a pdf file using a pdf printer-emulator (my own term) like the free version from Ronyasoft (you do do get an on screen pop-up window every time you print but just close that).

unless anyone can suggest a better pdf printer ?

Wish I'd thought of that... oh wait I did..
You don't need Word, you can print the images (if that is how you scanned them) directly to PDF from the Windows image viewer.. like I said we use this at work.

I didn't know you could print direct to pdf from Windows Image Viewer [thanks for that info foogoo] (you still have to save them to file after you've scanned them though ? I've always used jpeg, but my scanner support the other main pic formats), but how do print them to the same pdf file ? Perhaps I hould explore the functionality of my scanner ...

to print them as the same file, open the folder in Explorer, select the files you want and right click and select Print. The multiple selections go as one print job - one PDF.
BTW I was just messin with ya.:)

All great ideas but not quite the route I wanted to go.
I've attached a screen shot of something that would work.
The thumbnails (2 of them) on the left are pages I've scanned...I can scan as many as
I need and they continue adding to the thumbnail column...then when I'm finished scanning
I can click "build PDF" and it makes all the scanned pages one PDF file.

The screen shot is A-PDF software..and it works good except it puts an advertisement
on the 1st page. I can buy the software of course but I was hoping for something
similar that is free--based on the small number of times I would use it for multiple pages!

So, keep the ideas coming and THANKS everyone for the help so far!
