Hi, I would appreciate any help anybody can provide. I am having an IE window repeatedly pop up (sometimes 3 at a time) the window is blank, and the website address is a varient of: >http://ad.cs102175.com/desktop/redirect.aspx?width=1&height=1&SiteID=adsi.3236/RON<

I have run AdAware, Spybot S&D, and a full scan of Panda Titanium 2006 with no solution (all 3 claim my computer is clean).

A Hijack This log is attached, and I am also attaching a summary from Everest of my computer specifications. The computer was origionally an Emachines, and I have upgraded everything other than the Processor and Hard Drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention, the computer is behind a DLINK DI604 router's firewall.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis
Also Download & run Blacklight Beta
    • Hit I accept. It will take you to download page.
    • Download blbeta.exe and save it to the Desktop.
    • Once saved... double click blbeta.exe to install the program.
    • Click accept agreement and Click scan
This app too may fire off a warning from antivirus. Let the driver load.
      Wait for it to finish.
    • If it displays any items...don't do anything with them yet. Just hit exit (close)
    • It will drop a log on Desktop that looks like fsbl-xxxxxxx.log
    • Please attach the Blacklight log file here.

rebooted into safemode, ran CCleaner, AdAware, SpyBot, Windows Defender, and the Malicious Software Removal Tool, attempted to run the blacklight program and it failed to run with the following error:

"F-Secure Blacklight was unable to aquire necisary privileges (SeDebugPrivilege)"

Started up IE (I usually use Firefox) and attempted to run Bitdefender and Panda ActiveScan, in both cases I was unable to click on the graphical "I agree" or "Run Scan Now" links (they simply caused another popup from the same URL as posted earlier to appear) right clicking on the link and attempting to open it in a new window or selecting open had the same effect. The link's properties are as an image, not a hyperlink so I was unable to cut/paste the target URL into a browser window.

I have run another scan with Panda Titanium (this time in safe mode) and still no problems detected. Updated hijackthis log posted.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to your desktop.
    • Close all windows before continuing.
    • Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
    • Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
    • You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
    • When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
    • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
    • You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
    • When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
    • Your computer will then shutdown.
    • Turn your computer back on.
    • Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
If Look2Me-Destroyer does not reopen automatically, reboot and try again.

If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.
    http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/images/lib/MSWINSCK.OCX

Also see if BlackLight will run now.

Ran the Look2Me destroyer utility as indicated, recieved one error while it was removing entries "(Error 45<-- im fairly sure) file/path error"

Ran the Blacklight utility which then ran correctly, it did not find anything.

Enclosed a new Hijackthis log and the log from the L2M program. Thank you again for your help. (The popups continue)

First Look in Add/Remove programs for EQAdvice and uninstall if found!

Make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar =
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4F51515157585856] 90929292989999.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sys11-1931455012] C:\WINDOWS\sys11-1931455012.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [EQAdvice] "C:\Program Files\EQAdvice\EQAdvice.exe"
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: interceptor.dll,runner.dll,cbhkpoek.dll,EQMini.dll

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete:
    C:\Program Files\EQAdvice <--- the whole folder
    C:\WINDOWS\sys11-1931455012.exe
    C:\Windows\system32\90929292989999.exe
    C:\Windows\system32\interceptor.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\runner.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\cbhkpoek.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\EQMini.dll

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.
Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST).

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1. If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2. Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3. If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.
Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now.

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

Completed all steps above with the exception of the following items:

    C:\Windows\system32\90929292989999.exe
    C:\Windows\system32\interceptor.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\runner.dll

I was unable to find those files in those directories.

Ran CCleaner and HJK and am posting a log as requested. Everything seems to be running normally now, the problem appears to be resolved.

    Thank You!

You're welcome! That's okay. HijackThis probably deleted them.

Your log is clean. If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to go back to step 1 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points. Then reboot and enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

After that, you should work thru the below link:
