Pesky IE8 popup

Hello,

I'm trying to play a game which requires using the F5 key.
This pesky window keeps popping up. Does anyone know
how to disable it, in IE8 ver 8.0.6001.18702

Any help would be great.

First thing I'd do is check the game settings and see if there's a way to re-assign the keys used by the game, and change F5 to something else that isn't going to cause a problem (F5 is used by default by most browsers as a "refresh" button). I did some quick research about this, and the general consensus was "you can't change/disable it", but I also found these links:

All of the links above involve writing some code (usually a JavaScript), and I have no experience with writing any type of code. However, the code is provided, and with a bit of research, you should be able to figure it out. Seems kind of ridiculous that a web-based game would use F5 anyway.... maybe contact the game's developers and see what they say?

This IE8 window, seems to be a security popup.
I just thought there was an easy disable option but maybe not.
In some browser based games, F5 is a neccessary tool. So this
unneccessary popup, kills the deal.
