This is a heads up to anyone using the SPF verification extension for Mozilla Thunderbird. For anyone who doesn't know, this extension does a simple check with the domain to verify that a received email's address is valid and not spoofed. This is helpful when checking for phishing attacks.

However, after going through my inbox today, I noticed NEW phishing attacks where the date has been set back so that the extension sees the address as too old to verify.

I just hope that nobody gets fooled by these thieves.

    Thanks for the heads up.
