I want to transfer some of my vinyl collection to CDs: Looking for recommendations & info on phono preamps: Prices range from $40's to over
$1k. Will my ears hear any difference? Specific brand name recommendations
would be appreciated.

Also, does Vista Home Premium have a utility to clean up clicks, hiss, scratches,
pops before transfer to CD?

I can't help you on the transfer part but if you take the second question and explain it to them in software they may be able to help and if not they can point you in the right direction.
