This is a pretty common problem. Try this first.

Uninstall Microsoft .net framework software you have.

Then, install this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&displaylang=en

Then, install this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...4F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38&displaylang=en

 

I am NOT a geek! How do I do that? Where do I find it?

 

Whooo Hoooo I did it! Thanks guys! Now it says no more updates are needed. I have been looking to fix this for a while now. In a tahoo chatroom for computer help they kept telling me that I had to have a pirated copy of windows but I knew that my copy was legal and above board all along. I searched here for solutions too but couldn't find any because people say what they need in thread titles I think. I thought that I needed to reformat again.

Yeah, when I worked doing Microsoft support, I had techs call me about this at least 10 times a day.

Very common issue.

 

Those help threads at microsoft are no help at all to someone like me. They just kept me running from one link to another reading all sorts of stuff that I believe was put there just to confuse me more. ( I am easily confused by PC stuff LOL )
