Pioneer DVR-111D dvd-rom

Just installed it, seems to be really slow, reading/writing.
I got it OEM, no software, wondering if I have to install drivers for it, or does WinXP(pro) have its own drivers for it? Thanks...

 

Nope dont need drivers, Windows provides them

Post your system specs & describe slow and like what are your reading & writting??
Ya might also tell us what burning software your using.

 

First thing I'd check is to make sure DMA is enabled.

Start, run and type in devmgmt.msc then OK.

Under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, double-click both the Primary and Secondary IDE Channels.

In the Advanced Settings tab, DMA should be selected for both, and not PIO mode.

 

i just got mine today n i install it but it wont get reconize by my computer .Did urs come with a installation software ?

 

If it is connected properly it should automatically be picked up. No installation software required.

What operating system are you running? Can you see it in the device manager?

 

im running windows xp service sp2

i cant see it on device mananger i even reboot my computer nuttin happen

 

Have you got the IDE cable the right way round. The red stipe should be facing you. Make sure it is not twisted one end.

Does it show any power to it when booting up?
